With over two decades of experience in the work at height industry, Andy Jennings is no exception. Over this time, he has built an extensive knowledge of fall protection systems, safe working practices and practical problem-solving, making him a valued member of our training team.
Professional Background
Q. Can you tell us a bit about your background before joining Eurosafe?
I’ve always had a keen interest in rock climbing, and that’s had a big influence on the industries I’ve worked in throughout my carer. Before joining Eurosafe, I spent around 15 years in the sign industry, manufacturing and installing signage, much of which involved working at height.
I first joined Eurosafe in 2004 as part of the installations team, fitting a wide range of work at height safety systems. After seven years, I moved into the office to manage both inspections and training (we were much smaller at this point!).
As the business continued to grow, the opportunity arose to move into a dedicated training role, and I’ve been delivering training full-time since 2015.
Q. What inspired you to become a trainer?
Being able to pass on knowledge and practical experience to those who work at height every day is something I genuinely enjoy. If I can help someone become more confident, work more safely or leave the course with a better understanding than when they arrived, then I’ve done my job.
Q. What skills and experience do you bring to Eurosafe Training?
My background in rock climbing gave me an early appreciation and understanding of safety, equipment and working in challenging environments, which led to me seeking opportunities in the work at height industry.
Having worked across installation, inspection and training, I understand the entire lifecycle of work at height equipment and, more importantly, how it’s used in real workplaces. That practical experience allows me to relate training back to the day-to-day challenges that delegates face.
I believe that people learn best when they feel comfortable asking questions, sharing experiences and discussing real-life situations, so I like to create a relaxed, conversational learning environment on my courses.

Q. What do you enjoy most about your role?
One of the best parts of the job is meeting people across such a wide variety of industries and locations.
I’ve always found helping people to develop their skills and knowledge incredibly rewarding. Each course brings delegates with different experiences, and I find real satisfaction in discussing the unique challenges they face, and finding practical ways – together – to overcome them.
It’s rewarding to help clients find practical solutions that improve safety while meeting the needs of their business.
Q. What courses do you typically deliver?
My training focus is work at height, and ther work at height training courses, including:
- Latchways installation training (vertical and horizontal systems)
- Latchways GTFA examination and repair
- Ladder User Training
- Ladder Inspection Training
- Working at Height
- Rescue from Height
When asked about his favourite course, Andy commented:
“The Latchways GTFA Examination and Repair course is probably my favourite, because it has a great balance between theory and practical learning. The course flows really well, and delegates get the opportunity to apply what they’ve learned throughout the day.”
Q. Finally, what advice would you give to people attending one of your courses?
The biggest piece of advice I’d give is to get involved – the more you engage with the trainer and the course content, the more you’ll get out of it. Don’t be afraid to ask questions or share your own experiences. Chances are, if you’re wondering about something, someone else in the room is thinking the exact same thing.
Training works best when it’s a conversation, so make the most of the opportunity to learn from both the trainer and your fellow delegates.
