Confined Space Entry: Medium Risk - Refresher (CSC09R)
This City & Guilds course is designed to refresh and reassess the knowledge of those working in confined space environments with medium risk. In these environments, there is a medium risk that a specified hazard may be present, and it is essential to follow proper procedures to work safely. The course includes essential training for entering and exiting confined spaces, as well as the use of escape breathing apparatus for emergency situations.

Training can be conducted at our purpose-built Eurosafe Training Academy or on your site using our Mobile Training Unit for convenience.
Important: Candidates are only eligible for refresher course for a maximum of 6 months after expiration of prior certification.

Course Contents
- Definition of a confined space (HSE, C&G, Water UK NC1-NC4 classifications)
- Specified risks
- Duties under the regulations, preventing the need for entry
- Risk assessment and hazard identification
- Atmospheric hazards and gases
- Principles and use of gas detectors
- Safe systems of work and permits to work
- Roles, responsibilities, and entry controller duties
- Pre-use checks of equipment including correct donning and adjustment of harnesses
- Inspection and applications of tripods, winches, and fall arrest equipment
- Inspection and use of personal escape breathing apparatus
Learning Outcomes
- Prepare to work safely in medium risk confined spaces
- Enter and exit medium risk confined spaces safely
- Prepare and use escape breathing apparatus in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions
- Use equipment and tools safely, and in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions
- Follow procedures and work safely
- Deal with emergencies
- Use appropriate behaviour when working in medium risk confined spaces
- Understand legislation governing working in medium risk confined spaces
- Apply appropriate industry specific knowledge for working in medium risk confined spaces
